About AIMGT
The Africa Institute of Mobility & Green Technology (AIMGT) is a specialized training initiative dedicated to developing the skills required for the future of electric mobility and sustainable transportation in Africa.
Presented by ChrisnelSA, AIMGT was established to address the growing demand for technical expertise in the rapidly evolving Electric Vehicle (EV) and New Energy Vehicle (NEV) sectors. As the global automotive industry transitions toward cleaner and more sustainable mobility solutions, Africa must build the capacity and skills needed to support this transformation.
AIMGT focuses on providing industry-aligned, practical training programs designed for technicians, engineers, industry professionals, and individuals seeking to enter the electric mobility sector. Our programs emphasize hands-on learning in key areas such as electric vehicle systems, battery technologies, charging infrastructure, energy management, EV assembly, and quality control.
To ensure international standards and technical excellence, AIMGT collaborates with leading global partners. Our affiliated partners include the Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) and Spaark Technologies, who provide technical expertise and support in EV training technologies and systems.
Our Location
AIMGT is located at the Automotive Industry Development Centre (AIDC) in Rosslyn, Pretoria — one of South Africa’s most important automotive industry hubs.
The AIDC is a government-supported automotive development agency focused on strengthening the competitiveness of South Africa’s automotive sector through skills development, enterprise development, and advanced training facilities.
Situated within the Automotive Supplier Park in Rosslyn, the AIDC operates in a strategic industrial cluster that hosts numerous automotive manufacturers, component suppliers, and service providers working closely with major vehicle manufacturers.
